Update: I’m back.
My month in Kenya was amazing, heartbreaking, beautiful, challenging, and so, so good. I’ll be blogging about it over the next few weeks as I try to wrap my mind around it, but for now: thank you for sending me. It was everything I needed.
As you might know, this summer I will be spending July in East Africa on the World Race Exposure trip with Adventures in Missions. My decision to go on this missions trip has shocked and surprised many of my friends, who have often heard me declare (and I quote) that I “don’t really want to go to Africa and love on babies”.
Well, sometimes God likes to laugh at my declarations and then change the plans on me. As a result – I’m going to Africa. If you’ve got some free time and would like to read the four-part series on how God changed my perspective on missions, you can find that here, and if you want to read my updates during the fundraising process, those are here.
I’m overjoyed to announce that I’m fully funded for this trip. Thank you, a million times over.
Would you be in prayer for this trip? I’m stepping out on a huge adventure, and I’d love to know that I’m covered in prayer during the entire process. Please pray for the people of Africa that I will encounter, for the relationships that I will develop with East Africans and the World Race team I will be working with, and for my walk with the Lord throughout this adventure.
I am deeply appreciative of both your prayer and your financial support. I’m so excited to see how God is going to change my life through this trip, and I hope that He uses this opportunity to bless you, as well.
